Ballard will be playing a Varsity and a Jr Varsity team in Fall Brawl this year. Fall Brawl will be Saturday October 11, at Tom Sawyer Park. Fee for this event will be based on # of players and teams. Estimate is $22 - $33. This event is outside of the spring season and is not paid by the boosters. Fees are paid by individuals who participate.

Coaches Montgomery and Kirk want to have all players signed up with US Lacrosse with current US LAX #'s. This allows the boosters to conduct a group registration which makes life easier for all. In order for a player to be on the roster and get the US LAX #, the player must submit an initial $35 payment (as part of the spring season fees) and fill out any paperwork that the coaches give you. Please place a check in an envelope to be given to Coach Montgomery this week during conditioning. Checks should be made out to "Ballard Men's Lacrosse Boosters" and it helps if the players name is written on the memo line.

If you have recently renewed your US LAX #, then provide the number, expiration date and we will attempt to add you to the group registration list. Your fee for the spring season will be reduced by $35 to reflect the registration.

Parking is somewhat limited...so, it will help if you can carpool.
Normal pool stuff needed like towels, swimsuits, etc. Lifeguard will be on duty.

David was on the original 2001 Ballard team and would like to continue to participate and support Ballard Lacrosse. Since only 7 years has past there are many players that can span the 7 years Ballard has been playing. Spread the Word! The 2008 Ballard Lacrosse Annual Alumni game will be this Sunday, May 18 at 5 pm at the Ballard Stadium. Please spread the word to any current or former Ballard players. Coach Tyler, Grey, Daly and myself will be suiting up for the alumni. This is an informal event, so we will need any injured players (ie Steve and Cary) to assume reffing responsibilities from their lawn chairs while they work on their tan. Everyone else involved needs a reversible jersey and water. We're just going to show up, suit up, and have a good time.

It's almost here- this is the last week of the regular season. Congratulations gentlemen, you have worked hard and the rewards are yours. But the job is not done yet. We have the chance to make our way into the playoffs on our terms, to give ourselves the position that gives us the best shot at the championship. We have two things to focus on for the next two weeks: School and Lacrosse. After that, you can do whatever you want. Focus and motivate yourself for the next two weeks on those two things and you will see results.

Monday 5/5:

Practice at 3:00 sharp. One of the Bellarmine face-off middies is coming to work with us. We need to be ready to go to use our time with him wisely. Anyone that wants to work on faceoffs can work with him after warm-ups.

Tuesday:

JV vs CAL @ Seneca Park, 5pm. This is a scrimmage. All players should be at the field at 4:00pm for pre-game.

Varsity: Practice 3:30-5:30

Wednesday:

Pregame practice 3;30-5:30

Thursday:

JV @ St. X 5:30; all players on field at 4:30 ready for pre-game

V @ St. X 7:30. Varsity players be ready to warm up when JV hits 4th quarter. All players are encouraged to be there to support your teammates.

Just a reminder. If you are not able to play in any game due to illness or injury, you are still expected to be in uniform, on the sidelines to support your teammates.

OK...everyone should know now that tomorrow's game is against Trinity. It is an away game that will be held at Trinity's field.

This is the biggest game that the Ballard team has had up to now, so we need everyone...dad, mom, grandparents, sibs, friends, and Ballard students to be there and cheer, scream, and yell for your team.

Wear your best Ballard Bruin school colors and show your spirit. Wear your son's team jacket if it is not bunched up at the bottom of his gear bag and has taken on that certain "funk" that comes from being oxygen deprived for 2 months.

The Ballard Lax Blog shows that the games are at 5:00 & 7:00 for JV and V respectively. I know today's email said 5:30 & 7:30 per coach. We will get this cleared up because we don't want anyone to miss a single minute!!!

Pancake Fundraiser News

All,

The pancake fundraiser was last week. Everyone enjoyed it...including the complete strangers who came, paid, and ate. This is such an easy fund raiser and we need to make complete use of it by getting lots of friends and family to come and support us. We had a total of 22 boys participate in serving. I think the best comment that I heard was from one of the staff as he was prepping for lunch. Several of the remaining boys sat at tables and made up a full basket of napkin-wrapped-utensils for Applebee's to use after we left. The employee said that 9 out of 10 groups leave with tables not bussed, garbage on the floor, and they never wrap new utensils. He was very impressed with our group. I was also pleased.

We are making the final tally of envelopes, tickets sold, etc. If you have an envelope still, then please get it to Dave Cummings or Coach Wallace by tomorrow evening.

2008 Banquet News

This is advance notice to "Hold the Date" for the lacrosse banquet on May 20th. This date appears pretty open for the school calendar. This year we are doing the banquet separate from the alumni game. The banquet will be a catered dinner thanks to Sue Levermore who is organizing the event. She will be handing out the invitations tomorrow and will start to collect money. How much??? Players are no charge, coaches (who we love) are no charge, and our team managers are no charge! But what about everyone else??? Parents and sibs will only be $5 each. The booster organization will be subsidizing this event to keep the cost low for the families.

Look for details. Look for Sue tomorrow at the games.

They have been nominated and accepted for tryouts for the KY Elite team to be coached by Jack McGetrick of Bellarmine University, 2-time NCAA Division 1 Coach of the Year while he was at Providence, and Chad Wabrek, Head Coach at Louisville Collegiate School. These players will have the opportunity to play and learn from some very talented coaches, as well as represent Ballard with the Best in the State. These players may be representing Kentucky at two tournaments this summer that draw many college coaches and scouts. Congratulations to Nicholas Parrot, Alex Kinney and Chris Helton who were elected Freshmen team captains after the JV victory over Covington Catholic Varsity yesterday.

Due to a change in my position at Ballard, and changes within the athletic department, there will be no more study hall before practice on T/W/TH. Practice will still start officially at 3:30 and any players concerned about their grades (which still affect playing time) will still have ample time to work on homework before practice starts.

Other announcements: Team pictures are next Thursday the 24th during practice. All players are to wear their Black away uniforms (top and shorts). Attached is the order form for the pictures. Please click here, fill this out and bring it to practice with you on Tues/Wednesday of next week.

Ice Breaker t-shirts "The Art of War" have arrived and will be available for purchase at the spirit wear table at the Eastern game on Friday. All sizes are $15. Get yours before they are gone!!!

This program is open only to current Freshmen, Sophomores or Juniors. **This is a great way to get noticed by colleges. One of my former teammates has a little brother being recruited by Dartmouth and Lehigh as a Sophomore from playing for the St. Louis summer elite team.

Download the invite/explanation of tryouts for a KY All-Star HS Boys' Lacrosse team. The plan is for this team (or teams) to play in Gait Cup 2008 from July 2-5 (see attachment) and possibly another tournament as well from June 14-15 in Cincinnati (www.tikitournaments.com). Last year such players as Alex Nugent (LC) and Chase Carraro (St. X) and Will Cary (Collegiate) and Brian Gordon (Manual) and Charlie George (Trinity) were on the team, and it was a terrific opportunity for KY lacrosse to showcase its best.

However, we need your help again in nominating your best high school players for these tryouts. The biggest difference this year is that no current seniors are allowed to play on the team. All dates and procedures are explained in the attachment, but please look it over and get back to
either Coach McGetrick or me with any questions.

Senior Day

All Parents and Players,

After speaking with Coach Wallace, he has requested that the Senior Day occur at this Friday's game against Eastern. My apologies for the late notice and especially to Stephanie Stein (we will ensure that you do not have concession duty during the ceremony!).

Players: Coach Ryan will be asking you to create your info. You need to provide how many years of lacrosse at Ballard (years JV and years V), position played, any specific career highlight, future plans (college or other), parents names, and the all important quote and/or what you wish to leave to the underclassmen teammates.

Parents: As in prior years, you will accompany your player out onto the field at the start of the ceremony. The ceremony will be at half-time.Players and parents will be lined up to the left of the balloon arch (as viewed from the stands). When the players name is called, together you will walk behind the line of players and parents, go through the arch, step forward for the photo while the player info is being read. After you will move to the right where a new line is being formed that mirrors the original line. Thus, everyone moves from left to right

We have a great group of seniors and this is our chance to recognize each one along with their parents for their contribution to the team over the years.

Underclassmen dads: We will need a hand-full of dads to move the arch (big and awkward with weights) to the field quickly before the ceremony and then off again when it is over.

Important Fund Raising News

The Event:

On Saturday, April 19^th, Menʼs Lacrosse will hold a pancake breakfast fundraiser at the local Applebee's at 9921 Ormsby Station Road (off Hurstbourne Pkwy across from UPS). Tickets will be sold for $5 each. All Junior classmen and below will be required to sell 4 tickets each or buy out for $16.00. Any additional tickets sold will be credited to player accounts at $4 per ticket (Applebee's gets $1 per ticket). 20 players will be needed as servers/bus-boys at the fundraiser and will earn an additional $10 credit on their account. This is a great opportunity to lower your player fees for next season and help the team meet its financial obligations. Tickets will be distributed at practice tomorrow through Coach Wallace. (Senior families...no requirement from you as this is for next season, but please support the team by purchasing and participating in the event.)

Tickets:
Each player will receive an envelope with their name containing 10 tickets. The players would then return the cash from the tickets sold and any unsold tickets in the same envelope to Dave Cummings Saturday morning, April 19th. Any player needing additional tickets can contact Dave at dc3802@aol.com or 502-262-4365.

Servers:
This will be limited to the first 20 players to contact Dave via e-mail. If someone volunteers after all spots are filled they will get first right-of-refusal on the next pancake fundraiser. If we do not get enough volunteers, then players will be assigned. Remaining players that are not assigned will be on the list for the next fundraiser. This will ensure that all players carry the burden of working the fundraisers. Important to note that if they show up to work but didn't contact Dave, they will not be eligible for the incentive. As with last time, we will need a few parents to help out.

Financial Details:

The last pancake breakfast fundraiser made $1,400 for the team/players. The reality is that this fundraiser can easily benefit the player that wants to sell beyond the minimum requirement. For example, a player that sells a total of 14 tickets (for easy math) and works as a server will generate $5x14=$70 in ticket revenue. Yet, the player will receive back to his account $10 for serving and $4x10=$40 for the excess tickets for a grand player total of $50. Applebee's receives $14 if all ticket holders show up. This leaves the team a whopping $6 to the general fund. The boys did a great job last time and were on-the-ball in their duties. It's only half-way through the season, but it's already time to start thinking about the summer!! Many of you have already asked me about summer programs. There are a wide range of summer camp choices, from 1-2 day camps to 1 week+ overnight camps as far away as Hawaii or Florida... Below are some helpful links to get you started on your camp search. There are many great camps immediately surrounding KY, even here in Louisville. The first thing to decide is- am I going to camp just to get better and have fun, or am I looking to be exposed to college coaches that may be interested in me? Volunteers Needed

All players and parents,

As the season continues, and we continue to win, I would like to express my thanks for such a large pool of parent and player volunteers that are really the ones making our home games so successful. And of course, thanks to the guys on the field providing the action and excitement. That being said, we need some volunteers for a few jobs that got left by the wayside:

Team dinners- Any sophomore parent able to help with a Team Dinner this Thursday, March 27th at 5:30, please contact me ASAP.

Time/Stats/Score Keepers: Any parent (especially dads!) that would like to help with Time, Stats, or Score keeping, please contact me ASAP. This is a great way to get on the sideline, right in the action to watch your son play. (Reminder: Any injured and/or ineligible players- if you can't be on the field with your team, this is a great way to stay involved and support your teammates...)

Our next home game is Wednesday, March 26th at 5pm vs Collegiate. This is will be a test for us, so lets get as many students, parents, friends and fans in the stands as we can!!!

Ballard Beats Manual

Ballard Defeats Rival Manual 21-7, Louisville- The Ballard Men’s Lacrosse team defeated local rival Manual on Friday night, 21-7 in front of a large early-season crowd. The Bruins started off slow, allowing two Manual goals in the first quarter before the Ballard offense woke up late in the first quarter with a goal from junior midfielder Cary Walker. Senior attackmen Paul Fischer, David Spielberg and Jason Gilbert each tallied five goals in the game. By half-time, Ballard had the game comfortably under control, leading by a score of 12-3. Manual began a comeback run in the third quarter, scoring 3 quick goals. Lots of hard-hitting action in midfield created some difficulty for the Bruins bringing the ball down the field. But by full-time the Bruins had things back under control, putting away 5 goals in the fourth quarter, finishing the game at 21-7. The Bruins are now 3-1 overall this season, this being the first win this season in Kentucky league play. The next home game is this Wednesday, March 26^th at 5pm.

All players and parents-

After a lot of wrangling with the weather, we were able to travel up to Indy last night to play cathedral. It turned out to be a nice evening for lacrosse. The rain tapered off right before game time and the sun even came out for a little while. Hopefully we can count on the same treatment when we play Manual tomorrow night at home. Thank you to everyone for being flexible enough to deal with 3 date and/or venue changes for this game, and especially for allowing your sons to make the trip that lasted til 11pm last night. Getting up on-time and taking care of your responsibilities after a late night is a valuable skill.
Although we didn't come home with a win, we were able to see what level we are capable of playing at, and that we can challenge some very good teams. We are talented enough and athletic enough to win. Now all we have to do is "Walk the Walk" and do it. Our next tests are:

All players and parents,

Due to the inclement weather and previous attempts at last minute schedule adjustments, we have some more schedule changes (yea!) Again, I thank all of you (especially parents with busy schedules) for your patience and flexibility. The weather is a condition we are all still working around.

The Varsity game vs Cathedral, IN has been rescheduled to TOMORROW, March 19th at 5:30pm. The bus will leave Ballard Promptly at 2:45 and we will return around 9:30-10:00pm. This is a Varsity only game, although there will be extra seats on the bus for any JV players or parents that would like to go watch the game.

All Varsity players need both sets of game jerseys (white and black tops and shorts), foul weather gear for being on the sidelines (you can play in sweatpants if you like, as long as they are black), and a WARM CHANGE OF CLOTHES for the ride home.

This game is on astro turf. Please bring appropriate footwear (cleats, flats, and/or turf shoes).

The JV game vs CAL this Saturday has been cancelled. This was a miscommunication between myself and the opposing coach. I apologize.

JV practice tomorrow has been cancelled. There will be normal practice Thursday. The team dinner for the Manual game will be Thursday at 5:30 in the small cafeteria.

Due to the weather forecast for this week, we are attempting to postpone the Varsity game vs Cathedral, IN game until Thursday. Please check your schedules in case this becomes necessary. I apologize for the first two cancellations, when the weather turned out to be very nice during both scheduled game times. My luck with weather forecasts has not been the best for the start of the season. I am doing everything I can to avoid any more "bad calls" on my part for upcoming games.

Hopefully we all enjoyed our snow day weekend. Although the Ice Breaker was set to be a great time for us to sharpen our skills this year, I think we all could do without standing in the rain and cold for two days straight... The Ballard Lacrosse Coaching staff found plenty of ways to keep busy. Nice Article in Ballard's PTA News Letter

Thanks to Head Coach (a.k.a. Ballard's favorite substitute teacher) Ryan Wallace, Ballard Men's Lacrosse is expecting a big turn-around this year! After going 2-8 in league play last year, the Bruins plan on being a big contender for state playoffs this season in Kentucky Div. I. With a strong senior class, a winning coaching staff, a supportive Athletic Department, and a great parent booster club, they have all the pieces in place for an outstanding year. The Team made a big impact at the Knoxville Lacrosse Festival last month, with Ballard's Varsity crushing every team they played, including last years SC State Champs! JV won 3 of its 4 games. Ballard is a much bigger scoring threat this year, with an all-senior attack led by #42 Paul Fischer (19 goals, 8 assists last year) and former All-State midfielder #9 David Spielberg (24 goals, 6 assists). #1 Austin Seiz has recovered from knee surgery and is a powerful scoring threat. With the recent addition of Defensive Coordinator Tyler Montgomery, a former All-American from New Jersey, Ballard hopes to be a defensive powerhouse. The defense will be led by Senior Steve Hehir, backed by seniors Ty Unthank, Clay Simpson, and sophomore standout John Haselden. All-State goalie Jeremy Stein will control things from the net for his third season at Ballard. Ballard's midfield will be stacked with a strong Junior class of defensive minded players that combined for over 150 ground balls last year. Led by Senior Robbie LeJong and backed by juniors Cary Walker, Hunter Smith, and Daniel Clark, the midfield will be the work horse of this new Bruin team. The Bruins have a 19 game schedule this year, facing tough competition from Indiana, Ohio, and Tennessee. They face-off their first home game against Male on Thursday March 6th, and then in-state rival Lexington Catholic the following Wednesday. Details on Knoxville Trip

The following is key information about the Knoxville Lacrosse Festival. Players - make sure that your parents have received this email. Parents - make sure that your player has seen it as well. This trip is funded by the boosters. Players need very little money...see below in Food section. This email is divided up in sections to answer questions that you have about the trip.

Transportation

Players and coaches will travel by motor coach. The bus will arrive at 5:45 AM on Saturday, February 23. Departure is at 6:00 AM. The trip there is 242 miles and approximately 3 hrs 50 minutes (assuming no stops). Thus, in a perfect world, the team will get to the park at 10:00 AM. First game is at 11:00 AM.

Return trip - The bus will leave the fields at approximately 3:30 PM on Sunday, February 24. This is after the last Ballard JV game. Arrival at Ballard will be approximately 8:30 PM (assuming a one hour dinner stop on way back home). Players can start calling for pick-up about a half hour before arrival.

Weather

Forecast for weekend is cloudy with high of 50 F with lows of mid-30s. Dress appropriately - sweats, hoodies, etc. However, do not pack for a week! With all luggage and equipment there will be no extra room in the luggage hold of the motor coach. Double check you equipment bag.

Hotel Rooms

Rooms have been blocked for our players. Coach Ryan has developed a rooming plan. Details provided by Coach Wallace at his choosing. Bottomline...everyone has a place to sleep. Curfew will be set by Coach Wallace and strictly adhered to by players.

Supervision

Coach Wallace and I will be at the hotel with the players. We expect the utmost in best behavior. The team has to commit to a code of conduct for the hotel and I am sure that we will exceed this and be welcomed back. No player is allowed to wonder off the premises. Any player that goes with a parent to dinner, etc. must inform Coach Wallace or me in advance so that we do not contact Knoxville Police about a missing lax player. I am serious about this...Coach Wallace and I must be able to account for all players at all times. No exceptions. Parents can contact me at my mobile number below at anytime as needed.

Ballard Lacrosse News Release

PRESS RELEASE: 2/13/08

Ballard HS Lacrosse is expecting a big turn-around this year. After going 2-8 in league play last year, the Bruins plan on being a big contender for state playoffs this year in Kentucky Div. I. With a strong senior class, a supportive Athletic Department, and a great parent booster club, they have all the pieces in place for a great year.

Ballard will be a much bigger scoring threat this year, with an all-senior attack led by #42 Paul Fischer (19 goals, 8 assists last year) and former midfielder #9 David Spielberg (24 goals, 6 assists).

With the addition of Defensive Coordinator Tyler Montgomery, a former All-American from New Jersey, Ballard hopes to be a defensive powerhouse. The defense will be led by Senior Steve Hehir, backed by seniors Ty Unthank, Clay Simpson, and sophomore standout John Haselden. All-state goalie Jeremy Stein will control things from the net for his fourth season at Ballard.

Ballard's midfield will be stacked with a strong junior class of defensive minded players that combined for over 150 ground balls last year. Led by Senior Robbie LeJong and backed by juniors Cary Walker, Hunter Smith, and Daniel Clark, the midfield will be the work horse of this new Bruin team.

The Bruins have a 19 game schedule this year, facing tough competition from Indiana, Ohio, and Tennessee. They face-off their first home game against in-state rival Lexington Catholic on Wednesday, March 12^th, and then local rival Manual the following Friday. A check with the Knoxville hotel last night on parent reservations revealed, as of this time no parent-designated rooms have been converted over to any Ballard parent. The rooms will be released on Friday, February 15th. Please see below for information on how to get one of the rooms. Also, if you are planning on going and are in a different hotel or other arrangements, please let us know so that we will know who is planning on being there.

Knoxville Tournament Information - Important

The Knoxville tournament is coming up on February 23 & 24 (Saturday and Sunday). Coach Wallace will be making final plans, but we can anticipate an early AM departure (~6:00 AM) on Saturday and then arrival in mid-evening on Sunday (~6:00 PM).

Travel: We have a chartered motor coach that will provide transportation for the players.

Hotel: We have 26 rooms block reserved for our group at one of the hotels associated with the tournament. It is the Best Western - Cedar Bluff. The players and coaches will use 17 rooms which leaves 9 rooms for use by parents. The players' rooms are paid for by the Boosters. Parents will get the same discounted rate, but the room must be converted over to your name and credit card. To convert a blocked room to your name...

* Call the hotel at 865.539.0058,

* Tell the reservations clerk that you want to convert one of the rooms in the Ballard Team (may also be called Kentucky Team) block of rooms.

* The tournament rate is $79 per night and with taxes, etc. the final cost is $92.63 per night,

* Provide all of your normal personal information along with credit card,

* I will have to release rooms back to inventory by next Friday, February 15th, as there is demand for more rooms and the hotel is technically sold out,

* If there is greater demand for rooms that the 9 that are blocked, then those parents will have to find rooms in other nearby hotels.

The hotel has a code-of-conduct that it expects our team to abide to during our stay. I am certain that Coach Wallace's standard for the team's code-of-conduct exceeds the hotels. As in previous years, behavior that is deemed to be a serious infraction may result in that player being sent home in advance of the team at player/parent expense. However, I am certain that we will continue to have a perfect record of not having to act upon this situation.

Reminder: MANDATORY Pre-season Sign-up meeting will be held THURSDAY FEB 7TH, 6:00-7:30pm @ Ballard Cafeteria. All players will need proof of US Lacrosse insurance and parental approval in order to register for the team.

We will discuss Practice schedule and policies, game and travel schedule, uniforms, etc., and to address any other questions/concerns as we lead into our busy championship season. It will happen very fast, so let's make sure we're all ready!

An Updated Season schedule for both JV and V and a Master Calendar have be posted to the Download Forms section of the blog.

Please send in your first dues payment if you have not done so. Our first tournament is 3 weeks away and we need to start paying for arrangements: hotels, travel, fees, etc. Your quick attention is greatly appreciated.

**Regular Season Practice begins: MONDAY FEB 11TH @ 2:30-5:00pm. We will be conditioning most of practice.

All players should bring to every practice:

Appropriate clothing for being outside, ie sweats, hoodies, wind jackets, etc.

Just as a reminder, you can download forms, schedules, rosters and other documents in their original formats. Just follow the link that can be found on the right side of the blog titled "Lacrosse Links", go to Download Forms, Directions, Ect.... Once you get to the page, find the document you want to download, click on the box next to the document you want, to create a checkmark, and finally click on Download in the tool bar.

If anyone wants to share Ballard Lacrosse photos, you can send them to me in digital format via e-mail or you can send them to school on a disk for Paul to bring home. I will add all pictures on our Flickr web page. You can access and download any of the photos in their original format and size. Ballard Lacrosse Wear

If you did not get a chance to order Ballard Team Warm ups for this year (Parents can order too!!), there is a second order being put together right now. Please contact the coach ASAP. These include your son's number on each piece. All the players that ordered them the first time are very happy with the way they turned out.

What comes in the order: Hoodie, Sweats, Work out T-shirt, Work out shorts = all for $65 (Wow! What a deal!)

Include a reversible practice jersey with your number = $75 total

You can order individual pieces as well. Prices can be found on the order form. These make great gifts for supportive friends, girlfriends, siblings, and relatives. Make sure you have your Ballard warm-up gear for those cold Feb and Mar games, and when we're playing for State Championships too!!

Mandatory Meeting

All players and parents-

In order to formally kick off the beginning of the season, there will be a MANDATORY preseason meeting scheduled for:

THURSDAY, FEB 7TH @ 6:00-7:30PM in the Large Cafeteria at Ballard HS.

This meeting will discuss practice and game policies and schedules, transportation issues, uniforms, equipment, dues, etc. Every player will be required to formally "sign up" for the team, with proof of US Lacrosse membership and parental approval. This will be a very exciting season for Ballard Lacrosse with our sights set firmly on a State Championship on May 16th. I look forward to seeing you all there.

Heads Up!

Heads up everyone!!! Lacrosse season is rapidly approaching, with lots of fun : daily practices! trips! tournaments! games! coaching! pre-game dinners! And more! But it all costs money, and fees must be paid for each player to participate. Most of the expenses associated with team participation , except personal equipment, are included in the fees, so you don't have to worry about constantly coming up with more money for lacrosse. The fees this year are $400.00 per player. The first payment will be $200 and will be due by Wednesday, January 23rd. The second payment (which will account for any credits earned by players) will be due by Wednesday, February 27th. Fees should be made out to: Ballard Boys Lacrosse and given to Coach . We're all looking forward to a great season under the leadership of our dynamic new coach. Go Bruins!!

Thanks to Jason Gilbert for being the ONLY player to suggest anything for pre-game warm up music. I have
had plenty of parent suggestions, so I hope all the "kids" are cool with Zeppelin and Hendrix. I will be
including some ZZ Top as well, but if you want any "rap" or "hip-hop" to get you pumped up, some of you
better get on the horn and get me some suggestions. The only Hip-hop songs I know are In Da Club and OPP.
That's it. I'm serious. I don't even know who Soldier Boy is.

Complete warm up packages have arrived at the Spielberg's house. Some of you may have picked up
your hoodies and sweats already, but the shorts,t-shirts and practice jerseys are here now as well. THESE WILL NOT BE DELIVERED TO YOU. Please contact Jeff or Jamey Spielberg to arrange a pick up time.

Pre-Game Music

I will be working on our pre-game warm up music to play during our Friday night games, under the lights, in front of all our parents, fans, cheerleaders, college scouts, newspaper reporters, and anyone else that wants to see us get as pumped up as possible before games. All players are to complete the following tasks during
the holiday break:
-Relax, eat and enjoy yourselves. Feel free to put on some weight because we will work it into muscle in January. Have a milk shake before you go to bed, 2nds and 3rds on Dessert and plenty of mashed potatoes and put gravy on everything.

-Do something nice for your parents and/or siblings at least 3 times/week. This is MANDATORY.
-Shovel the drive way. Turn it into a workout/contest and see how fast you can do it. You will do it for free.

I will be out of town until Jan 13th but will be
