New Coaching Staff Addition

Please join me in welcoming Mark Hultz as he joins Ballard's Men's Lacrosse Coaching Staff. Mark is originally from Rochester, New York. He relocated to Northern Kentucky during high school and graduated from Ryle High School. He is a recent graduate of DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana obtaining his degree in Sports Medicine and Psychology. Mark is a sales representative for Biomet - Fields Medical. Mark grew up playing lacrosse and played at the club level in college. In addition to playing lacrosse, Mark was the Lacrosse Club's president at DePauw, and a player/coach. Welcome aboard!

Coming back for the 2007 season are the following coaches:

Head Coach Jay Johnson came to Ballard a few years ago, after coaching other schools/clubs in the city. Jay's passion for lacrosse began early, as he grew-up playing in up-state New York. Coach Johnson was a D-Pole for Washington & Lee University and is still actively playing lacrosse. His wife, Paige, and 16 month old son, Hayes cheer for the Bruins at many games. Our sons are so fortunate to play for this amazing mentor, who has volunteered countless hours, and is solely responsible for making Ballard Lacrosse become what it is today!

Steve Gray began assisting Jay when his son, Colin (BHS '06) joined the team. In addition to being one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, his knowledge of the game is invaluable to the Team. We're lucky to have Steve back this year!

Cole Sigmun (St X '03) was the leading scorer in Kentucky his senior year! The Team is so fortunate to have this young man returning as an assistant. Cole will be taking on many of Jay's responsibilities this year.

Russ Davenport (BHS '03) played lacrosse for Ballard and Bellarmine University. Although he is new to the coaching staff, Russ has been the face players have seen the most during the off-season. His help is appreciated by the staff and boosters alike.
