Alumni Game

It turned out to be a beautiful day for the Alumni game. I believe Ballard beat the Alumni by about 10 goals. Timing was everything today, with everyone making it to the pavilion before the downpour!
After feasting. the coaches presented the following awards (cookies were awarded-okay, I'm planning to make sure they really do get real awards!!)
"Outstanding Freshman" went to John Haselden
"Best Defense" went to Case Fedor
"Best Offense" went to David Spielberg
"MVP" went to Hunter Smith.

The seniors were presented with gifts from the Boosters. I have Robert's and Gregg's gifts at my house if they want them. We thanked the coaches for their hard work and devotion to the boys. The Boosters voted to officially split from the girls side, with the departing party being able to take their own funds with them. We have over $7000 to start next season. Jeff Spielberg will be working with Chris Kinney, Jon Seiz and anyone else interested on the Head Coach Search Committee. Ads have been placed in several different, appropriate media. It is not out of the question that Russ will be returning next season (depends on his employment plans, as he graduates in December), nor is it out of the question that our new head coach candidate also become an employee of Ballard High School. Jeff & Jon will keep us up to date on this important issue.
Our summer fundraiser will benefit individual players fees. Several parents, including Sue Levy, Debbie Curry and Lee Smith will be helping at the Applebee,s Breakfast, from 8-10 on July 28. If boys work as servers, their accounts will be credited $4 per ticket sold. If they choose to only sell tickets, their accounts will be credited $2 per ticket sold. The tickets are $5 each. Players purchase tickets from lacrosse. You can take orders, then deliver the tickets if that works best for you. Lacrosse pays Applebee,s $1 for every ticket redeemed on July 28. Tickets will not be sold at the door! Pre-sale only, with no refunds for unsold tickets. I have them at my house, when you're ready. We can sell 300 tickets and we have 36 returning players, so please keep that in mind.(I have just over 200 after the banquet)
We'll work on getting the Kroger cards (also benefiting individual player credits). We'll take care of the paperwork once our split with the girls is complete.
Russ is planning on holding a weekly informal practice at Ballard...details to follow
