PANCAKE BREAKFAST
BALLARD BRUIN BONANZA
The Ballard Bruin Bonanza is coming up. This event will be held this year on Saturday, January 26th, 2008 at the Brown and Williamson Club at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium. If you have not attended this event in the past, it is an incredible evening. If you have, then you know what I mean... tables of items for silent auction, great food, cash bar, tables to socialize, and an exciting live auction of wonderful items.
This will be a required event for all players.
A Pancake Breakfast will be held at Applebee's @ Hurstbourne (by UPS)
Saturday, November 17th, from 8-10 AM
Tickets are $5 each with $4 profit being returned to the team
What is required? Each player is required to sell only four (4) tickets. The team has 300 tickets available maximum to this breakfast. With 51 players on our current roster, this means that 205 tickets would be required to be sold, but that 95 tickets would be extra and available. So, here is the math...
* The first four tickets sold goes to the team general fund - $16
* Any tickets that you sell over this goes to your personal account to offset fees
Thus, if you sell 9 tickets to your family and neighbors, then $16 goes to the team and $20 goes to your account.

Last year the Bonanza raised $5,315 for the lacrosse team. I know that we can do even better this year. Here is what we need you to do...
* The required participation part is that we will have classes (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors) get together and create an auction item. Jamey Spielberg will head up the seniors, Sue Levy will do the same for sophomores, freshmen is about to be filled, and I do need a junior parent. These captains will coordinate the class parents to create an item (themed gift basket or other idea) through either donations or money to purchase items. This is for each class to determine how to proceed.
* Additionally, we had many great solicitors last year and we need your help again. Please see if your donors can generously give again this year. Many of you have contacts through your work, friends, or place of worship where you would feel comfortable asking them to contribute. These donations can be either an item or a service. There are some very creative items offered such as legal services, color consulting, personal chef services, lawn care, and such. Solicitations can also be for sponsor, patron, and program ads. Donations are tax deductible as well. The solicitation form that needs to be completed for each item can be downloaded here. Download Form.
Here is the timing...
Between now and November 30th - solicit items and services for auction and use form to document donation.
December 1 - deadline to submit items.
December 21 - deadline for sponsor, patron, and program ad forms.
January 26 - attend Bonanza and have a date night!
You will be contacted by your class coordinator for the class auction item. This is a great event and we get 85% of all money bid on Boys Lacrosse items (the event organizers get 15%). If you know of a good donation opportunity, but do not feel comfortable asking directly, then please contact me and let me know how I can help.
CHRISTMAS TREES
An opportunity for fund raising has been made available to the Lacrosse Team. Thanks to Sue Levermore, boys can help to unload Christmas trees at a nearby church. This will probably be a couple of hours of work. The need is for 15 boys and they will earn $20 credit each that will apply to their personal account. The need is for Tuesday, November 20th at 3:00 PM. The first 15 that contact David Cummings at his email of dc3802@aol.com will get to work. However, the only stipulation is that the boys must be 16 years or older.
David Cummings will coordinate the sign-up list. If questions, please feel free to contact him.
